First Act · Pages 1–9. Twenty-five thousand years ago, Santee Station suddenly explodes in high orbit over Mars. Debris from the orbital station rains down upon Renoa City, devastating the Martian surface and killing millions. In the aftermath, the Tri-Planetary Coalition convenes an emergency council and urges restraint while investigators work to determine who destroyed the station. But Poseidon, ruler of Neptuna, has already reached his verdict. Convinced the catastrophe was an act of war, he demands the annihilation of those he holds responsible and threatens to unleash the most destructive weapon in the known galaxy. Standing between diplomacy and total war are the Allies — three Ascended humans sworn to protect the citizens of Earth, Mars, and Ares, as well as the greater Nerrian Galaxy. As accusations spread and military forces mobilize, the Allies must uncover the truth before Poseidon turns one catastrophe into the beginning of an interplanetary war.
